WATERLINE - September, 2019

Join the WALPA Board!

Becoming a WALPA officer or Board member allows you to play a key role in our efforts to expand and improve lake management and protection practices in Washington State, network with limnological professionals throughout the Pacific Northwest, and take an active part in planning and executing our annual conference (as well as interact with a downright lovely group of people).

Our mission is to encourage and support programs for lake and watershed protection, restoration and management; provide educational resources and information about lake and watershed management; and foster communication and coordination among lake and watershed stakeholders. As a Board we meet monthly to help guide our members in fulfilling this mission. You can attend board meetings electronically by calling into our web conference service. We ask that all Board members help with planning and attend our annual conference each fall.

The following positions will be opening up for 2019:

President-Elect (three-year term as President-Elect, President, and Past President)

Secretary (two-year term)

Three (3) Board Directors (two-year terms)

WALPA seeks regional representation and a balance of Directors representing agencies, consultants, educators and lake residents. If you are interested in running to serve in 2019-2020, or know of a great candidate, please contact any member of the Board of Directors by early October. You can also email info@walpa.org to let us know you are interested or find out more about any of the positions.
