In December 2020, an unexpected and very welcome monetary gift was made to WALPA by the Jordan and Andrea Lott Foundation. This very generous donation will be used to fund our efforts to provide education, support, and outreach to citizens and organizations across Washington and Idaho that protect and improve lakes and associated habitats.

The gift could not have come at a better time! With the COVID-19 pandemic making in-person conferences impossible, WALPA is short on funds that we would normally recoup at the annual conference and happy hour auction to support scholarships and educational programs. The Lott Foundation gift will allow us to continue our scholarship program seamlessly, as well as help fund our newsletter and explore the idea of providing small environmental grants for lake groups.
We wish to thank the Lott Foundation very much for their gift and interest in lake health across the Pacific Northwest.
